The Iowa Cancer Consortium's Spring Meeting brings together cancer control advocates and professionals to find inspiration and learn from others working in the field. In 2021, we are pleased to offer our annual member meeting and a special training from our partners at the Racial Equity Institute (REI) at no-cost to our members. 

1. REI Groundwater Approach Presentation || Mon., May 10th from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Note: This virtual presentation is capped at 100 participants) In this virtual webinar, REI organizers will use stories and data to present a perspective that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. The "groundwater" metaphor will be introduced and is designed to help practitioners at all levels internalize the reality that we live in a racially structured society, and that that is what causes racial inequity. 
2. Spring Meeting || Tues., May 11th from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Note: Unlimited participants) Join the team for our annual membership meeting! This session will feature updates from around the Consortium including presentations from FY21 grantees, legislative updates and a forum to help identify how the Consortium can help organizations and members take an additional step towards equity in cancer control.
