Speaker:Margaret M. Farrell, MPH RDScience Communications Team LeadNational Institutes of Health All of Us Research Program
The Iowa Cancer Consortium's Research & Clinical Trials Workgroup is pleased to host Margaret M. Farrell, MPH RD, to discuss navigating difficult conversations during the clinical trial enrollment process. For some, asking patients personal questions about their gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual activity, culture, language, etc., can be uncomfortable. Drawing from experience with the All of Us Research Program, Ms. Farrell will discuss what information they collect from participants and what guidance they share with enrollment staff to make it a comfortable and safe process for all. Additionally, she will also discuss the program's current work in integrating research findings into the entire participant journey and lessons learned.
