Industry partners are leaders in science and innovation, and have important and unique knowledge, skills, and resources to contribute to cancer control in Iowa.

In an effort to connect industry resources with healthcare and grassroots cancer control work while centering the best interests of Iowans, the Iowa Cancer Consortium is excited to host a virtual Industry Roundtable on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 12-1:30pm (CDT). 

Agenda:

• Welcome (10 minutes)
• Industry Panel and Q&A (45 minutes)
• • Panelists will share about roles within their companies relevant to cancer control work and how they have partnered with community cancer control initiatives in the past. Non-industry attendees will be able to ask questions in an engaging dialog.
• Speed Networking Sessions (30 minutes)
• • Attendees will meet with industry members one-on-one or in small groups in breakout rooms for a set amount of time before moving to another breakout room/industry member. Non-industry attendees will share their "elevator pitch" of the cancer control work they do in Iowa, and industry members will share relevant programs, initiatives, and information with attendees.
• Adjourn (5 minutes)

Who should attend?

• Industry representatives who want to educate about their programs beyond their products
• Providers who need educational support and/or other types of support for their patients
• Public health professionals, researchers, non-profit leaders, and community members who need programmatic or outreach partnership
• Patients and/or patient navigators who want to learn about industry supported financial assistance/access to care resources

Meeting Purpose:

• To convene and connect industry representatives, providers, public health professionals, researchers, non-profit leaders, community members, patients, and patient navigators.
• To educate non-industry individuals on the role of industry in comprehensive cancer control.
• To allow industry representatives to share about their resources, programs, and initiatives that go beyond pharmaceutical products.
• To allow non-industry individuals to share what they need from industry partners.
• To share unbranded materials and other resources digitally with participants.

What Can Industry Partners Contribute to the Consortium?

• Provide access to unbranded materials from across the cancer control spectrum (prevention and risk reduction, early detection, treatment, quality of life, equity, research, policy, etc.).
• Share available grant or other funding opportunities.
• Share reimbursement insights and support.
• Share policy/systems change insights and support.
• Come with an interest in understanding state cancer control efforts and building connections between industry and other cancer control partners.
• Come ready to make connections between individuals and organizations within the cancer space.
• Share insight into science, innovation, and the health care system.

What Can the Iowa Cancer Consortium contribute to industry partners?

• An understanding of and connection to state cancer control efforts and partners.
• Connection with communities and local efforts.
