The theme for 2024 is Cancer at Work: Occupational Risk Reduction, and several sectors highlighted in the Iowa Cancer Plan will be discussed, including:

• Agricultural workers and environmental exposures - Laura Beane Freeman, PhD, National Cancer Institute
• "Firefighting" as a carcinogen - Judith Graber, PhD, MS, Rutgers School of Public Health and Lt. Tyler Mark, City of Des Moines
• Military and the Veterans Affairs healthcare system - Frank Cannizzo, MD, PhD, FACS, Salem VA Medical Center
• Casino workers and second-hand smoke - Traci Kennedy, American Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation
